Carolina Beach State Park

Carolina Beach State Park is a state park near the Cape Fear River, separate from the town’s ocean beach. I picked up a map near the marina, chose a route of about five kilometres and loved the walk and river view. Check alerts and trail conditions, and bring water, sun protection and insect repellent in warm weather. The park has no designated swimming area, with dangerous currents and sharp drop-offs near its shores.
