Denver Art Museum

Denver Art Museum

Denver Art Museum grew from an art association founded in 1893. Its collections span periods and regions, including Indigenous arts of the Americas, Asian and African art, design, and modern and contemporary art.

Architecture is part of the experience: the Martin Building opened in 1971 and was designed by Gio Ponti and his collaborators; the angular Hamilton Building was designed by Daniel Libeskind. Each gives the galleries a distinctive setting.

We thoroughly enjoyed this impressive museum and recommend allowing time for both the art and the architecture. As checked in September 2026, it is closed on Wednesdays. General admission is free for visitors aged 18 and under; special exhibitions may require separate tickets. Check opening hours and admission conditions.
