The Charlotte Museum of History and the Rock House

We visited the Charlotte Museum of History before our flight home and were glad we made time. Alongside the exhibitions, the highlight is the Alexander Rock House, completed in 1774 and the oldest surviving house in Mecklenburg County. The site explores early local history, including the lives and work of enslaved people on the property.
You can explore the grounds independently, but entry inside the house requires a guided tour. Check the tour schedule, especially when visiting before a flight. It was a very rewarding final stop for us.
