The easiest way to use your phone in the UK is to purchase a Sim Card for 1 pound in one of the electric shops, and buying a Top Up voucher in any Tesco store. I bought a Sim card of Three mobile network and topped it up for 10 pounds. That was enough for me for three days in London and another four days in Glasgow.
