The museum is located inside Acre's city walls, instantly adding a dash of historical context.
And once you're inside, it's like stepping back in time. The museum showcases life in Galilee during the 19th and early 20th centuries. It's like an extensive time capsule, from antique furniture, tools, and musical instruments to household items, clothing, and crafts!
What I loved most about this place was how it made history feel personal and relatable. It's not just about kings, wars, or significant events, but everyday objects that ordinary people use, making it a rare peek into the past.
It's a nostalgic journey showing how much (and, in some cases, how little) this city has changed.
Visiting the museum is relatively cheap (10 ILS when we visited, approx. $3), and combining it with your visit to the walls is recommended.
