Evening in the city and a good meal

In the Place du Grand Jardin area, an art event took place, which was not particularly impressive. We had more fun than dinner at the Grand Jardin.L’AmbuscadeA grill restaurant where the food was delicious and the price convenient after a day of traveling and walking between the villages, it was pleasant to sit in the square and eat leisurely.

In the morning we returned to the square hoping to find a food market, but because of the event there were only a few small stalls. If you are coming especially for the market, it is worth checking in advance if it is held as usual at the time of the visit.

The Church and the Mosaic of Chagall

In the Old City, we entered Notre Dame de la Natibita Cathedral, near the Town Hall. It was built where there was a Roman temple and an ancient church before. The ancient inscriptions and stones we saw add to the visit a reminder that the place had been used by residents for many periods.

The mosaic of Chagall, from 1979, depicts Moses being carried away from the water. Chagall lived in the Wenes from 1950 to 1966, and the work also expresses his connection to the city. We came closer to seeing the small stones and colors, and then we moved away to look at the whole picture. This was one of the parts we loved when we visited.

Le Floréal: The hotel we used in Vans

Us at the hotel Le Floréal The breakfast was good, and the hotel also had a pool. It is a simple and practical hotel, suitable for us because we went out every morning for a walk and searched mainly for comfortable accommodation at a good price.

We may earn a commission on bookings through this link.

Parking at the hotel is paid; during our visit it cost 12 per night. Just next to the hotel there are city parking spaces, and during our visit they were free of charge between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. We parked there thus saving the cost of parking at the hotel. Other times, and on subsequent visits, follow the signs on the premises.
