The Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection

The University of Virginia’s Kluge-Ruhe collection focuses on Indigenous Australian art, including contemporary work. I found this small museum a pleasant and interesting stop. In 1997, John Kluge donated the collection he had built and combined with Edward Ruhe’s; the museum opened at its current location in 1999.

Admission is free and exhibitions change. Check hours and tours, and allow the artworks time even though the museum is small.
