When you say Hungary, most Israeli people think of Budapest. I really like the city and I have travelled it many times, but it is worth knowing that there are beautiful waters, not far from Budapest, which is worth seeing.
The Lake Balaton is one of them. there is all here: the area is green and beautiful, the lake is enormous and magnificent, there are hot beaches, wellness spa hotels, attractions of all ages and a lot of beauty.
So let’s talk this time about the Lake Balaton area:
In the summer the many beaches around the lake are full, there are many options of sea sports, attractions and festivals. the northern part of the lake is about an hour and a half drive from Budapest and by car you can surround the lake in three hours.
What do they do?
One of the fun ways to experience the lake is rental bicycles. around the lake there is a 200 km cycling route. we made a small part of it with electric bicycles and it was wonderful. there are different rental stores in the cities around the lake and you can take bicycles at one point and return to another point. the route is very arranged, views the lake and the way you can stop in the various cities and the lake observations for rest and refreshing.
From the many cities around the lake I want to recommend mainly about two: Hevitz where the hotel is a sweet town with a selection of cafes and a large thermal resort located in the city center and attracts tourists from all over the world. Temperatures in the lake range from 23 to 28 degrees and tourists enter it even when the snow falls.
The second town is Tihany Bonbonirea town that specializes in the london. In June the huge london fields near the town flow and throughout the year are sold in the city various london products and it is decorated in bright pink colors. It is recommended to walk in the main street with the small and boutique london shops, and sit in the famous Rege Cukraszda cafe. It is difficult to relax from his view of the lake and served in it london-based chefs and drinks alongside the regular dishes of the cafe. It is also worth going to the Lavender Tihany factory. explain there briefly about the production processes of the lavender and in the factory store you will find different products: from cosmetics, oils, candles to chocolate and creams.
The Lake Balaton area is also considered a central area of the Yakuza and in different cities you will find a variety of local wine centers where you can visit. One of the beautiful places is Casa Christa a small and beautiful wine shop with plots filled with different beans near the pearls that spread to the horizon and there is also a tight restaurant.
Balaton is not only nature – but also history. in the city of Keszthely is the 18th-century Festetics Palace surrounded by heated gardens, and within it a museum that presents the life of the local noble. Sümeg Castle, is a medieval fortress that preserved and offers riddle shows and recovered battles.
