By December, Milan’s stores are already decorating for Christmas.
I got the full Christmas experience on the 6th floor of the luxurious department store la Rinascente, located in Piazza del Duomo ("Cathedral Square"). An entire floor is entirely dedicated to Christmas decorations, Christmas trees in different colors, snow, and Santa Claus.
The highlight is a model made of an obscure material (neither Lego nor Playmobil) of a town at Christmas. The level of precision in creating this scale model is insane - the mother opening her arms for a hug, figures in the carousel, children skating on the ice - how colorful and beautiful - just stunning.
