Alexander Pushkin Museum and Memorial Apartment

Pushkin’s apartment at 12 Moika Embankment is dedicated to the final months of his life. He lived here with his family from September 1836. On 8 February 1837 in the Gregorian calendar, he was mortally wounded in a duel with Georges d’Anthès and died at home two days later, aged 37.
The visit brings this dramatic story into the rooms of the family home. We used an audio guide, which added valuable context. Check the museum’s opening and tour arrangements.
The house is well preserved. Visitors are required to wrap their shoes in unique covers during the visit.
