Menton: Colorful Lanes, Viewpoints and a Swim in the Sea
At Menton, we were able to incorporate everything we felt like that afternoon: wandering through a colorful ancient city, looking up and bathing in the sea. We arrived after the visit to Buzz and the stop at St. Agnes, and the possibility of moving from the alleys to the beach was particularly successful.

Manton was added to France in 1861, and at that time it began to develop as an international resort city. Around the Old City, a city that hosted vacationers from different countries grew. Even today, one can enjoy two things: traveling between houses and churches, and then going ashore.

Parking and Strolling in the Old City
We got in the car we rented through.DiscoverCars, and parked in the Old Town and Place Fontana area. The location was convenient for walking to the city, the beach and the old port. It is worth choosing from the top of a certain parking lot and finding out the price and the height of the entrance, especially if you arrive in a large vehicle.

From the parking lot we set out on the commercial streets, and later we entered the narrow alleys of the Old City. We also walked the Rue Longue, between colorful facades, stairs, and doors. We found many beautiful corners for photography, and stopped again and again on the way.

Go to the old cemetery.
We went up to the cemetery in the high part of the city. Besides the sightings, there are family tomb estates and statues, so it is worth walking around quietly and respectfully. The ascent requires effort, but the view from above was from the impressive parts of the visit.
The Old Castle Cemetery is where the castle once stood. It is buried with local families alongside people from other countries who lived or stayed in the area. The tombstones and grave estates also tell of Menton as a city that attracted residents and guests from outside of France.

Those who prefer to give up the ascent to the cemetery can make do with the alleys and the church plaza. Even on the way up there are beautiful lookouts, so you can choose how far to climb according to the power and time.
Getting down through the church plaza
On the descent we passed the church plaza and continued on to the long shopping street. After the relative silence above we returned to an area full of people, restaurants and shops. This was an opportunity to stop and decide whether to continue to wander or move to the sea.
It was built in the Baroque style in the 17th century, and next to it stands a chapel. In the courtyard, it is also worth paying attention to the flooring of the pebbles, where the Grimaldi family crest appears. The decorations and structures make the plaza a place to linger before continuing to descend.

Get in the water
After the cruise, we went ashore and went into the water. The place where we bathed reminded us of a lagoon, and the water was very pleasant. After all the stairs it was a great rest. Of course, before going into the sea, flags and conditions should be addressed that day.

It is worthwhile to take the bathing suit with you for a stroll and not leave it in a distant vehicle. In Menton it is easy to combine bathing without planning an entire beach day. This time we arrived ready, after sitting down Cap d'Antibes We were sorry we didn't bring bathing suits.
From here we continued to the evening at Monaco Whoever prefers a calm day can end up here, facing the sea. So?For the rest of the stations you will find The Complete Course.
