The Monfort (Monpur) Fortress - a stunning hike in Western Galilee.
The hike combines a walk in the grove of the Nahal Kaziv nature reserve, endless views from the top of the mountain over the entire area, and a visit to the remains of the Crusader fortress. The fort was built about 900 years ago and overlooked the Western Galilee mountains and Nahal Kaziv. The remains are only a tiny part of a magnificent crusader monastery that was destroyed during the Mamluk period.
The hike is about 40 minutes long (in one direction). It was not a steep climb, and the children walked with their parents next to us.

On the way, there are places to stop, rest, have a picnic, or have a coffee.
