Ano Poli Thessaloniki

Ano Poli was one of the areas we most enjoyed exploring in Thessaloniki. Its lanes, low houses and sea views create a different rhythm from the city centre. Parts of the district escaped the great fire of 1917 and retained their traditional character.
Expect hills, wear comfortable shoes and bring water. A walk can include Vlatadon Monastery, Hosios David Church and Trigoniou Tower. To avoid the climb, consider arriving by public transport or taxi and walking downhill. Check current routes and stops on your travel day.
