Monument to Maxim Gorky

The Maxim Gorky monument stands near Gorkovskaya metro station. For Boaz, the Russian writer also has an important connection to Hebrew culture: in 1921, Gorky’s intervention with Lenin helped secure permission for Bialik, a group of Odessa writers and their families to leave Russia.
It makes a short stop on the way to the mosque, the Museum of Political History or the Peter and Paul Fortress.
