Djami Kebir Mosque Larnaka

Djami Kebir Mosque stands beside Larnaca Castle. The building was formerly a Catholic church and was later converted into a mosque. Its interior is restrained; personally, we found it less striking than some of the more decorated places we visited.

It is an active mosque. Dress modestly, remove shoes and follow the site’s instructions, including hair covering for women. Robes were available at the entrance during our visit, but bring suitable covering rather than relying on their availability. Avoid sightseeing visits during prayer.
