Kuromon Market: Is It Still Worth Visiting?
Our October 2025 visit to Kuromon Market, with current visitor information and practical planning tips.

Our visit
We expected a local food experience at Kuromon Market, but during our visit it felt more tourist-oriented and expensive than anticipated. Not every tasting justified its price.
We did find good wagyu, so the stop was not a complete miss. Our recommendation is to arrive curious without assuming every stall offers value.
What to know
The covered market extends for roughly 580 meters and contains about 150 shops, mainly selling seafood, meat, produce and prepared food. Each business sets its own hours.
Planning the visit
Check prices before ordering, compare stalls and eat in designated areas. Late morning offers the best chance of finding more shops open.
For a wider route beyond the cities, compare transport and car-rental options in advance and decide what the itinerary actually requires.
