Gdansk Amber Museum: Our Visit and the Move to the Great Mill

We visited the Amber Museum in 2018, when it was still housed in the former prison-gate complex. Amber is fossilised tree resin, and the visit offered a closer look at this material so strongly associated with Gdańsk and the objects made from it.

At the former location we also saw a display on torture alongside the amber exhibits.

After our visit, the museum moved to the Great Mill at Wielkie Młyny 16. The move took place in 2021. The photographs in this article show our visit to the former location, not the current exhibition. Check the official visitor information before going.
