The most impressive cathedral in Milan. It is located at the heart of the city in Piazza del Duomo.
It is a vast and beautiful Gothic cathedral. The archbishop sits in it, and it was built since the 14th century. The Duomo square is surrounded by shops and shopping complexes (for example, the Vittorio Emanuel complex with luxury shops). In the square, you will usually also find various street performances. Hundreds of pigeons and the millions of tourists who arrive here like to be photographed with them every year.
The cathedral itself is stunning and very impressive. You need to buy a ticket to get in. We purchased a ticket that includes a tour inside and on the roof in advance. The church is enormous, and, in its basement, there are many archeological items.
The ascent to the rooftop is by elevator, and the walk on the roof is stunning. The entire square is visible from the rooftop.
You should arrive in the daytime and again at nighttime.
