- Beit Zayit Reservoir
Beit Zayit Reservoir is a beautiful place. The promenade is suitable for bikes, and scooters. We toured the place on a three wheels scooter. It is very stable and easy to cruise with. The trip takes about two hours. We drove on the banks of the lake and in the nearby national park. Ido the guide, is a very pleasant guy. He stopped at different points and gave historical geological explanations on the area. We stopped at Ein Karem national park, drank herbal tea from herbs we collected along the way, and watched the beautiful landscape of the Jerusalem Mountains. - The Fire Scroll Monument, The Saints' Trail, and the Anne Frank Memorial
A beautiful and exciting route of Holocaust commemoration. The starting point is the Fire Scroll Monument, inaugurated in 1972. Artist Nathan Rapaport, a Holocaust survivor, wanted to design the monument at first as six pillars in memory of the six million who perished in the Holocaust but eventually chose two pillars. One marks the Holocaust and the other the heroism. The monument is very impressive and surrounded by stunning views of the Jerusalem mountains. The Saints' Trail begins there - a stunning trail amidst the spectacular nature of the Jerusalem mountains, green and blooming with beautiful views. The trail leads down to three more stations related to the Holocaust: A wall with the names of communities in which the Jews perished. Bnei Brit Cave - serves as a place of remembrance for the memory of Holocaust victims in official ceremonies (it is impossible to enter it). The Anne Frank Memorial - Two short parallel paths in the Saintsâ Forest. On boards placed along the paths, you will find quotes from Anne Frank about her love for nature and especially for the chestnut tree she saw from the window. In the second trail, there are quotes written about her. The end of the path is a very beautiful statue of the sculptor Pete Cohen, a Holocaust survivor from the Netherlands. He wanted to emphasize the loneliness forced on her and her detachment from nature. It's a room without walls that looks a bit like a cage with one chair. From it, you can see the trees outside. Beyond this route, there are other hiking trails within the Forest of the Saints designed to commemorate the six million who were murdered in the Holocaust. For more trips in the area, press here.

A pleasant surprise in Hod Hasharon - Diner - a place of meat in the Sharonim Mall. There are excellent entrees: Calamari and Rostbeef Kidsâ main courses like fried sausages and dessert - excellent puffs with vanilla ice cream filling and chocolate sauce â Yummy. - Beit Yanai Beach - Nahal Alexander National Park
Beit Yanai Beach - Nahal Alexander National Park is one of the most beautiful beaches in Israel. Although it belongs to the Nature and Parks Authority, they do not charge money at the entrance The beach has several sections - the regulated section is also accessible for the disabled - there is a path from the parking lot to the beach. This section has a lifeguard, cafeteria, lockers, toilets, and showers. Near the regulated beach, you can climb to the "Ha'apalah Observatory" and get a spectacular view of the sea and continue walking until the estuary of the Alexander River. If you walk right or left, you arrive at the undeclared parts, and they are spectacular. Wide-open beaches, a combination of reddish rocks with a wild beach, small shady cricks between the rocks. The beach is so broad that even in mid-August, you can find quiet and charming parts. In these parts, there is no lifeguard, and bathing is the responsibility of the bathers. - A Fun Morning in Hasharon District
A fun morning in the Sharon area - a cafe, an organic nursery, hummus, and a stunning viewpoint on the beach Dundee is a cafe-flower shop-deli in the pastoral Moshav Batzra in the Sharon area. There are amazing pastries and also sandwiches, salads, wines, bouquets and more. You can sit there or take the food for a picnic in the area. Green is an organic nursery in the nearby Moshav Bnei Zion. The nursery specializes in growing organic vegetable seedlings and herbs. No need for a garden. I planted it on our porch. If you are still hungry, you can find a fresh Hummus stand near Moshav Batzra supermarket on Fridays. If you are looking for a picnic nearby, we recommend Hof Hasharon National Park (a half an hour drive), where there is a stunning viewpoint of the sea very close to the parking lot. - The Hidden Waterfall in Sharonim
Behind the Sharonim Mall in Hod Hasharon there is a large natural pool into which a waterfall flows. Someone once called it the "Hidden Waterfall," and since then, it has remained. Under the eucalyptus trees, there is a large pool into which the waterfall flows. On the banks of the waterfall, people spread out picnic blankets. Large parts are shaded. The last time I was there, people went into both the upper and the lower pools. I read that the water is not polluted only at the upper part, so you should only get into this part. This is a nice place for a coffee break in the middle of the week. It is also a good option for those who live in the center of Israel and want some nature without traveling far. The place is small, and you have to arrive early. Enjoyđ¤ For more trips in the area press here
- Gedor Sea Reserve (National Park)
Stunning combination of rocks and the beach - Gedor Beach National Park is one of several beaches in the country defined as nature reserves. Their role is to protect the vegetation and habitats in these places. The rocks on the beach produce an abundance of "pools" between them. They create private lagoons where you can sit on the sand or rocks and swim in a âprivate poolâ away from the hustle and bustle. You can also stay at the viewpoints up on the cliffs overlooking the beach - an excellent place for a picnic, a coffee break, or a romantic date. Because it is a nature reserve, it is forbidden to stay there after dark. It is also forbidden to sit under the cliffs for fear of collapsing. This is also true of many other beaches in Israel. Most of which do not have fencing or warnings signs. Enjoyđ¤ For more trips in the area press here
- Halbrecht Farm Food Garden
Halbrecht Farm Food Garden was established in 2013 with an ecological vision: to grow vegetables and herbs, be a food learning center, and provide visitors with an experience of relaxation. From our visit there, we can reassure you that they have accomplished their mission and vision. The garden is a large, green space; tables and wooden benches are scattered under the many trees that provide plenty of shade. Hammocks are also hung between the trees. If you are looking for total relaxation, you can hop right in. There are many activities for children in Halbrecht farm food garden - art corners, the livestock you can feed, a walk in the vegetable garden, a sandbox, and more. But this is not only a great place for children but a stunning space for all ages. You can order a picnic basket, in advance, from the store. Or you can arrive there, choose yourself from the collection of cheeses, crackers, spreads, natural smoothies, and hot and cold drinks. The store is combined with a nursery with about 350 types of succulents and other flowerpots. The staff is charming - smiling, welcoming people who make the experience especially pleasant. If you intend to arrive with children: on Saturdays, there are extra guided activities for children. If you intend to come without children, we recommend visiting in the middle of the week (Sundays-Thursdays). Enjoyđ¤ For more trips in the area press here

- Vickar Birdwatching Observation Deck
October-November is the birds' migration season. Vickar Birdwatching Observation Deck is full of hundreds of pelicans. The view is mesmerizing. They rest in peace, occasionally flying, swimming from place to place, and it is difficult to take your eyes off them. The ascent to the lookout is accessible. My tip: after observing the pelicans there, continue driving for another minute and reach another Observation Deck. From the second observation point, they are seen even more closely. Next, you will find Tal Park - with shaded trees and some picnic tables and benches near Alexander River. I suggest combining the trip with Tumarkin's Sculpture Garden in Burgata (a few minutes drive away). It is not really a garden but a lawn where various sculptures of Tumarkin are placed. You will find there Puzela Coffee cart. You can sit at their tables or spread out a mat on the grass. On Saturday they are closed. Enjoyđ¤ For more trips in the area press here.
- Hailanot Forest
There is a charming forest in the Sharon area where you will find a forest, a forest botanical garden (Arboretum), and a visitor center. You will find hundreds of types of trees representing many places in the world and a JNF visitor center where there are explanations of these trees. Along the paths, there are many shady corners where you can spread out a mat and have a picnic. The hike is enjoyable, and if you walk without stops, it is a circular tour of about half an hour. Two particularly charming areas: the first is the Casuarinas Circle: The second is the Maze for kids, in which they can run between the trees. Kids enjoyed it, and there is no doubt that they slept well at night ... Enjoyđ¤ For more trips in the area press here.
