- Recommended Cafe and a Restaurant in Ashdod
There is a variety of Cafes and restaurants in Ashdod. Here is a recommendation on two great places If you are looking for a great place for coffee and cake, I highly recommend Pnina Pie. It is an excellent patisserie - a selection of cakes, excellent personal pies, and croissants with a variety of excellent fillings. An excellent suggestion for lunch - Rongjan - Authentic Thai restaurant - excellent food, reasonable prices. The restaurant was opened by Avi Avta from Ashdod (a charming man who greets the delighted customers) and his Thai wife Rongjan. She is in charge of the cooking, and the restaurant is named after her. Over the years, it has become a well-known culinary institution in Ashdod. It is indeed real Thai food and not an Israeli imitation of what is thought to be Thai food. The place also sells food products from Thailand, such as sauces and cookies. With the breeze of the sea, Thai music in the background, and a menu with photos of dishes, it gives the whole Thai experience. Enjoy๐ค For more great trips in the area press here
- Nitzanim Lake
Nitzanim Lake is a water reservoir near Nitzanim Beach - groundwater that has risen to the surface following operations at quarries in the area. Arrival is on an unmarked path - behind the parking lot, you enter a trail and walk along the lake. We recommend you arrive early because the number of shaded corners is small. It is an excellent place for a picnic on the lakeshore. For a stunning view of the lake - climb (steep ascent but short) on one of the small paths on the right or reach the end and climb up the path between the trees. The view that emerges from there is fantastic. For a great viewpoint of the lake, you can also climb the slopes to the right of the trail. Kids sometimes use those slopes as natural slides. - Aniam Artists' Village
Aniam Artists' Village in the southern Golan Heights is a great place to take a break between trips in the area. The village is a small street in a European style with several galleries, second-hand shops, clothes, coffee, and chocolate. I was there twice in the holiday season and enjoyed it. Great place to sit, drink coffee, and wander around the shops a bit. The main problem with this place is that the stores are not coordinated in terms of opening days and hours. Everyone does justice to themselves, and I know of times that hikers got there and it was closed, so take that to your attention. Enjoy๐ค For more tips in the area, press here.
- Raz Waterfalls and Gil'ad Reservoir
Waterfalls and a two-pools beautiful reservoir - all in one hike. The first stop is Nahal Raz Waterfalls - the river only flows in winter so you should hurry ... The waterfalls are small and beautiful. Not really Niagara Falls, but nice. Arrive with the vehicle right up to the observation point. From there, you see a pipe that cuts the view - do not despair. From here, just begin the beautiful route. You have to cross the small stream to the other side. A few meters into the trail and you are close to the waterfalls. From here the view is much more beautiful. On the same path, you continue to walk along the stream to the Raz Reservoir (also known as the Gilad Reservoir), which is divided into two large pools. The water is mesmerizingly blue, ducks are floating in the water, and against the background of the bloom and the vegetation of the water, it looks fantastic. There is a comfortable circular route for walking around the first pool. After rainy days, the road is muddy. You can also continue to the second pool and then return. Please note that the western pool (the first one you reach) also has effluent water, and you cannot enter it. The signs in the area explicitly indicate this. The eastern pool is filled with the clean water of Nahal Raz. For more trips in the area press here. Enjoy๐ค

- The Garden and Forest of Ein Karem
Ein Karem is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Jerusalem during the daytime and nighttime. A stunning collection of galleries, cafes, magical alleys, beautiful houses, churches, monasteries, and a spectacular green landscape. This post focuses on the stunning nature in the neighborhood and 2 places in particular: 1. The Garden - In front of the Miriam spring, you will find a small, charming garden, green vegetation, trees, magical corners with shade where you can spread out a mat for a picnic. Those who tour there are families, couples on a romantic date, and hikers who like quiet. The view of the Jerusalem mountains and the nearby monasteries and churches completes the picture. 2. On the way above the Miriam spring, you climb up the remains of Roman roads and then reach a junction. Right - in the direction of the Russian monastery on the path marked in green and white. Left - towards the youth hostel. Either route you choose, you reach a quiet forest with plenty of shaded corners. There are great spots among the trees for a picnic or a coffee break. - A Fun Morning in Gedera
Gedera is a lovely small town for a morning of fun. Several places are located nearby and enable you to roam in the town center and enjoy an open museum, historical sites, and great food. First stop - Burekas Gedera - a well-known institution. Delicious hot Turkish Burekas straight from the oven in two flavors: cheese or cheese and spinach. Excellent. Address: Herzl 7 Gedera. Second stop - Habiluyim Street. This is the first street in Gedera that was opened in 1887. The street is a complex intended for preservation that has been restored and has become a charming place that combines old and new. Scattered along the street are several small shops of clothes, household items, designer furniture, and more. Charming tables with pictures from the town's early days and short historical explanations were placed on the sidewalks in several places. Third station - Yoma Segev Sculpture Garden - a unique and fascinating place open to all. The garden is full of iron, stone, and wood sculptures in various subjects: animals, human figures, biblical figures, objects, and more. The feeling is of an enchanted place and it is difficult to choose what to look at first. The artist allows anyone who wants to enter and wander for free. Forth station - Ugati (Habiluyim 14) - alongside "standard" cakes and cookies, I recommend the cakes that the owner of the place invents. He calls himself "McGiver of Cakes" mixes what he wants, and the result is warm and yummy cakes that taste like home. Enjoy๐ค For more great trips in the area press here

- James Madison's Montpelier
Montpelier is the plantation house of James Madison, the fourth President of the United States. Madison is known as the father of the Constitution and the architect of the Bill of Rights โ kind of funny when you think he was the owner of 100 slaves. Madison's wife, Dolly, was the 1st First Lady in USA history. A few years ago, the mansion was restored to its original size and style. At the same time, archeological digging revealed additional information about the African-American slaves' daily lives. Today, the mansion serves as an educational center and a museum. Besides visiting the house, there is an entire exhibition called "The mere distinction of color," telling the stories of the enslaved people of Montpelier and the history of slavery in the United States. The visitors can also take a nice walk in the mansion's garden. The House The South Yard and "The mere distinction of color" exhibit The Garden The Visitors Center #Thingstodo
